Spring Series 2014: Oisin Tobin, The Internet and International Law

The Irish Society of International law would like to thank Mr. Oisin Tobin for his insightful presentation on the internet and public international law. Mr Tobin explored a number of common myths in academic literature regarding the internet as an ungoverned and unregulated space. His contention was that the internet represented a highly regulated but contested space that highlights the currency of the international law principle of jurisdiction and the need for robust litigation in a global context.

International Law Spring Series 2014

The Irish Society of International Law is delighted to announce its spring series of talks. Each lecture concerns a pressing priority in international law and international affairs and is presented by expert scholars and practitioners.

The series follows our very successful autumn series, where academics and practitioners examined topics such as gender, climate change, austerity and disaster relief.

The series provides a means for lawyers and non-lawyers alike to become versed in the basic principles and current issues in key areas of public international law.

The spring series is graciously hosted by the Institute of Bankers, in the Irish Financial Services Centre.
